Artificial Intelligence for chatting is Facebook's next big thing

The era of Artificial Intelligence is finding its way and Facebook is paying its part. Facebook has started Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research group for its research on Artificial Intelligence. As a part of the research, Facebook has introduced chat robots for its chat application Messenger. Now, Facebook is going to take this research to the next level.
Facebook has arranged as new system called ParlAI under its research wing FAIR. This system allows the chatbot to be more meaningful and less robotic. Basically, the chatbots provide the chat strings based on the datasets provided by the developers. Now, Facebook has extended these datasets. The number has increased recently to 20 and still to be increased quickly. These datasets consist of different scenarios that the user can relate and the robot can reply as if the user feels to be talking with a human being.

Facebook M is another group of researchers as virtual assistant for Facebook, which provides location information to the Messenger app. Both the Facebook M group and the FAIR are working on providing the AI services of Facebook. On this note, Facebook is providing an opportunity for testing of this AI based chat bots. The researches are working on deriving knowledge from data - theory, hardware infrastructure, software infrastructure, algorithms and applications.
“We have incredible people in FAIR who are making significant progress in AI, but to really move the bar it’s equally as important to be outward focused. To push the envelope, push the science and technology forward, we must be actively engaged with the research community. We publish a lot of things we do, distribute a lot of code on open-source, and engage deeply with academia to drive the progress.” — Yann LeCun, Director of AI Research.
