Google has released patches for latest Android vulnerabilities

Google has recently released patches for the extreme vulnerabilities found in Android devices. These vulnerabilities can allow an attacker to take control of the device remotely and then execute code on the victim devices.
Android Patches
The update is found patching two vulnerabilities; the first one being specific to the Android platform and the other being device specific. For the Google products, the update will be available within two weeks but for other devices, it may take longer time depending upon the brand of the mobile device.

Android and Google Play Protect mitigations:
These mitigations are provided by the Android Security Platform and the protection services such as Google Play Protect. All of these services and capabilities reduce the chances of an Android device to be attacked.

  • The newer versions of Android were made difficult to be exploited. Hence, we advice the users to update the devices to avoid any data loss.
  • Google has a security team - Android Security Team - that monitors the apps available on PlayStore and warns the users if some application or the other is harmful, if installed. Hence, Google advises the users to enable Google Mobile Service, that monitors the third party apps for any malware or potentially harmful apps.
Every user is advised to always keep updated with the Android device. Remember, you are always vulnerable, using an electronic device.
