Qualcomm has conducted a research about the features that a user looks upon, when buying a new mobile device. Initially, the major parameter was expected to be the processor speed. But with the results, it was changed to RAM and finally, the parameter - battery capacity stood on top of the list.

To meet the battery requirements of the users, Qualcomm has designed a new technology called Quick Charge 4+. Qualcomm has been taking care of power consumption of the chipsets it's been releasing. The Snapdragon 835 consumes more than 25% less power than that of its predecessor Snapdragon 821. However, the time required to charge is still unable to meet the usage of the device. With Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, one can charge the mobile up to 50% of the battery just in 15 minutes.
When compared to the contemporary charging technologies, Quick Charge 4+ is superior. It comes with three features that prove its superiority - dual charge, intelligent thermal balancing and advanced security features.

Dual Charge:
Dual charge is an optional feature in the previous chipsets of Qualcomm. But, the next Snapdragon SoC comes with in-built dual charging support. Dual charge is the concept of including a second power management IC (PMIC) to the charger. This divides the current required for charging the device, which results in lesser power dissipation and charge time.
Intelligent thermal balancing:
Whenever current passes through a path, it gets heated up. This is inevitable. The Quick Charge 4+ chooses the coolest path available for charge transfer to the device. This reduces the power losses caused by the path, which further results in efficient charging.
Advanced safety features:
The Quick Charge 4+ is designed with a new layer of protection, which monitors case and connector temperature levels simultaneously. This drastically reduces the contexts of overheating and short-circuits.
The Quick Charge 4+ is not just limited to mobile device chargers; it can be used in wall adapters, car chargers, power banks, and even USB hubs. With this technology, the efficiency of charging increases by 30%.
